Black History Uncovered: Black History Uncovered, from enslavement to land ownership presented by Jacqueline Dixon, CSP This lecture explores Black histories often missing from dominant narratives, from the War of 1812 through emancipation and settlement in Upper Canada. Centered on the extraordinary life of Richard Pierpoint-formerly enslaved soldier, landowner, and community leader-it highlights resilience, advocacy, and the struggle for belonging in early Simcoe County.
