Music Niagara fan favourites Quartetto Gelato return to launch the Pops Series with an evening of vibrant rhythms, playful musical surprises, and dazzling virtuosity beneath the beautiful Music Niagara Festival Tent at Ironwood Cider House.
For more than 20 years, this internationally celebrated ensemble has thrilled Music Niagara audiences with performances that are equal parts classical mastery and theatrical entertainment. Known for their breathtaking musicianship and charismatic stage presence, Quartetto Gelato brings together virtuosic showpieces, romantic melodies, blazing gypsy tunes, tangos, and beloved classics—all performed with astonishing multi-instrumental brilliance.
Their performances are infused with the spirit of dance-inspired music from around the world, from fiery tangos and gypsy melodies to lively folk rhythms, creating an energetic and joyful concert experience filled with unexpected musical twists.
The quartet’s international career has included sold-out performances in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, captivating audiences with their distinctive combination of classical repertoire, engaging vocals, and global musical influences. Their recordings and performances have earned numerous accolades, including NPR’s Performance Today “Debut Artist of the Year” and the INDIE Award for Best Classical Ensemble.
Featuring Colin Maier (oboe and multiple instruments), Konstantin Popović (violin), Dobrochna Zubek (cello), and Matti Pulkki (accordion), Quartetto Gelato delivers an electrifying concert experience where artistry, humour, and virtuosity meet in spectacular fashion.
