An opening reception for two new exhibitions: one of oil paintings inspired by overlooked urban spaces, and a group show by a local arts collective.

Description

The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre invites the public to celebrate two new exhibitions, Unintentional City: Leslie Parker and Common Ground: NOTL Arts Collective Group Exhibit, opening November 1.

Join the artists for an opening reception on Sunday, November 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Guests can meet the artists, enjoy refreshments and connect with fellow art

enthusiasts. Remarks will take place at 2:30 p.m.

On view in the Joyner Gallery, Unintentional City features oil paintings by Toronto-based artist Leslie Parker, who captures overlooked spaces encountered in everyday life. Drawing on her background in architecture, Parker explores semi-private spaces nestled within Toronto’s laneways, backyards and urban corners that often pass unnoticed.

From snow-covered streets to vines climbing walls and shadows falling across fences, her paintings capture moments when lights, colour and the changing seasons transform familiar surroundings.

Common Ground brings together artists from the NOTL Arts Collective in a group exhibition in the Hummel Family Room, celebrating individual artistic voices and shared inspiration and creative connections within the community.

Together, the exhibitions reflect the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre’s commitment to showcasing artists and making the visual arts accessible to all.
